GLASS BEAD

Glass Bead is environmentally friendly and can be recycled up to eight times or more.  It is manufactured from lead-free, soda lime-type glass containing no free silica, that is made into preformed spherical balls.  Glass bead blasting will not leach toxins into the environment, will not leave residue on work pieces, will not cause dimensional changes to the base part being cleaned.

Glass beads are used for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Deburring and Smoothing
  • Stripping paint and light rust
  • Preparing surfaces for paint adhesion
  • Peening and Etching
  • Produces a clean, bright, satin finish
  • Auto restoration
  • Polishing of castings and Stainless-Steel fabrication

Glass Bead easily performs a wide variety of abrasive blasting jobs. Larger bead sizes can be used for the cleaning of automotive parts, castings, and deburring rough edges from castings and gears. Medium sizes are suited for blending surface defects and working with aluminum and stainless-steel parts, providing a satin to matte finish. Fine sizes work best for light duty work and allow for fine detail work.  Because of its reflectiveness, Fine sizes are also used in addition to paint for parking lot striping.
