White Aluminum Oxide

White Alumina is a high purity fused aluminum oxide (also called White Fused Aluminum Oxide, WFA, or White Corundum).  This iron-free blasting medium is angular and very hard. It has a powerful abrasive effect on the surface being blasted.  It has a Mohs hardness of 9, which is only surpassed by diamonds.

White fused alumina is recyclable, meaning it can be reused in many industrial applications, reducing waste production and the overall environmental impact. This feature makes white fused alumina a popular choice for environmentally focused manufacturing processes.

The properties of white fused alumina include:

  1. High hardness: Mohs hardness is 9.0, Vickers hardness (HV) is 2000-2200.
  2. Excellent toughness: The compressive strength of white fused alumina is 100KN/cm2.
  3. High self-sharpening ability: the crystal shape of white fused alumina is Angular shape. The particle can get a new sharp/angular edge after each blasting use.
  4. High-temperature resistance with low thermal conductivity and low coefficient of linear expansion.
  5. PH value: White fused alumina is a neutral substance with PH Value of 7.0-8.0.
  6. High resistance to chemical corrosion.

White Fused Alumina is produced using the Bayer Process and then smelted by electric arc furnace using high quality Aluminum Oxide as raw material. It is endowed with lots of advantages like white color, high hardness, good self-sharpening ability, strong grinding force, acid and base corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and good thermal shock resistance.
