Steel Shot are steel particles that are used as abrasive or peening media. Shot contains spherical shaped grains. Important properties for steel abrasives are hardness, grain size and shape, toughness and cleanliness (lack of oxides and contaminants). They have a Mohs hardness rating of 8.0-9.0 and 40-65 on the Rockwell Scale.
